Broad Aim

We celebrate time. Time is the concept that unites all submissions.

We invite you to think about how time relates to your work, field, interests and endeavors. All disciplines are welcome. We have broad fields of interest by which we categorize submissions. If you’re not sure if your time-related work fits into our themes, just ask! (It probably does).

The core topics of interest are:

-   Our everyday experience, understanding and perception of time,

-   Our temporal practices as individuals, groups, societies or cultures,

-   Time perceptions, time perspectives and orientations, mental time travels,

-   Inter-temporal choices and decision-making,

-   Temporal cultures and socializations,

-   Neural correlates of time perception

Psychology, social sciences and the humanities (e.g. psychoanalysis, anthropology, philosophy) are the primary audience, but our hope is also to broaden our scope and to create interactions with other sciences and related fields (physics, natural sciences, health sciences, urban, gender or literature studies; economics, design, information sciences, political science).

For example we are interested in questions such as: How does time influence human behavior and social functioning? How does our perception of time impact our life and everyday perceptions? How and why does time perception relate to social status and contexts? How does time build our reactions in the face of crises and changes? How can this knowledge be applied to tackle and solve clinical, social, economic and societal issues?

Our credo is that the concept of time can bridge gaps between disciplines and between scientific research and concrete action. This time conference will warmly welcome creative sessions and collaborative workshops gathering academics and practitioners, researchers and policy makers, artists or designers and scientists to respond to time-related challenges such as:

-   How time psychology can help in improving users’ experiences in a digital era

-   How policy makers can overcome temporal barriers (e.g. procrastination) in political decisions and in fostering citizen engagement

-   How public health can benefit from time research

-   How urban planning can take into account the temporal issues

-  - How time dimensions can contribute to reducing poverty, exclusion, inequalities and environmental destruction

-   And many other challenges you may propose to our community.

 Submission deadlines and response dates:

- Early submission deadline: Sunday January 21, 2017. Response by February 6, 2018.

- Submission deadline: Sunday February 25, 2018. Response by March 13, 2018

Note: If you need a response in 2017 for administrative reasons, please contact us.

Procedure: Please submit your abstract (200-300 words; 3-5 keywords) via the submission portal. Abstracts should be written in English and contain a clear outline of the argument, the theoretical framework, and, where applicable, methodology, results and conclusions. Authors may propose more than one submission.
