Course description:
This course is designed for individuals who are new to alternative fuels as well as those seeking to enhance their understanding of the use and specific requirements of biofuels, LNG, and methanol.
Delivered as a one-day program, the course provides an overview of alternative fuels at a foundational level before delving into those expected to become more prominent in the coming years.
The curriculum includes an in-depth exploration of liquid biofuels, LNG (including liquid bio-methane), and methanol, addressing operational, technical, and delivery considerations. Additionally, the course covers current and anticipated regulations, including those from the IMO and the EU, with attention to how EU regulations may influence voyages to and from non-EU/EEA waters.
Participants will also examine the economic competitiveness of these fuels and discuss how proposed regulations could impact their relative cost-effectiveness.
