MIT Enterprise Forum Greece would like to invite you to join a one-day workshop "Creating and Realizing the Value of Innovation" on Monday, July 1st in the LIbrary of the NCSR Demokritos.
We live in a world characterized by accelerating change. New and exciting enabling technologies have allowed change to occur at overwhelming fast rates. The deployment of the internet alone has made global interaction and communication available at the touch of a keystroke.
All of this means that we need to find new means of commercializing these new opportunities. The current themes of Innovation and Entrepreneurship alone are not enough to bring value to ideas. During the workshop, we will see how new challenges can be managed to help us realize successful outcomes.
The workshop will include international and local case studies, as well as a roundtable discussion with experienced investors. The workshop is designed to help participants understand how to move “from Lab to Market”.
The event will be led by Professor Jerome Schaufeld, WPI School of Business, founder and first Chairman of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge and author of the book: Commercializing Innovation (Springer, 2015).
The investors' panel will include Dr. Ronit Koren, Venture Partner at Aspire Ventures, LLC, an expert in global business development and financial and strategic alliances; Marina Hatsopoulos, entrepreneur, angel investor, Director and Chairperson of the Board of Levitronix Technologies, the worldwide leader in magnetically levitated bearingless motor technology; and Aristos Doxiadis, Partner at Big Pi, a venture capital firm investing in ambitious but pragmatic innovation in Greece.
The workshop will include a panel of local researchers turned entrepreneurs, who will share their success stories: Dr. Pirros Tsiakoulis, co-founder and CTO of Innoetics.com; and Evangelos Pappas, founder & CSO of RT Safe.
A complimentary copy of Professor Schaufeld's book, Commercializing Innovation, will be handed out to all participants.
