In the past, significant efforts took place to develop innovation bridges between Greece and Silicon Valley. As evidenced by success stories, these efforts supported the growth of the first generation Greek innovation ecosystem including high tech professional networks, investments in startups and high-value exits in the midst of a harsh economic environment and brain drain in Greece.

As the Greek innovation ecosystem evolved with technology clusters, startups, and mature businesses, various models emerged including, Inbound and Outbound Innovation, Foreign Indirect Investment, and Global Expansion. However, the efforts to create bridges with Silicon Valley were fragmented, isolated and with limited orchestration. The recent developments in Greece and innovation hubs in Thessaloniki and Northern Greece provide fresh opportunities to orchestrate stronger bridges with Silicon Valley.

Sponsored by the Thessaloniki Technopolis ICT Cluster and the Association of ICT Businesses of Northern Greece (ΣΕΠΒΕ) with the support of the Consulate General of Greece in San Francisco, the Hellenic Association at Stanford (Hell.A.S.), this event will explore how the Greek innovation ecosystem has evolved and brainstorm on opportunities expand the bridges with Silicon Valley.
