IBIA is pleased to collaborate with Argus as a supporting Association for the Argus Biofuels Europe Conference & Exhibition in London on 15-17 October 2024 and will deliver the IBIA Biofuels Training Course on 14 October 2024.
This course will look at the technical, operational, regulatory and economic issues behind the adoption of Bio based marine fuels.
The first session will cover the general rationale behind all of the forseen alternative fuels for motor ships. This will be followed by a general look at the menu of Bio based fuels and the regulatory background. The afternoon sessions will cover FAME, HVO, Bio Methane and Bio Methanol in more detail, including remarks on quality, quantities and relative storage space to other alternative fuels. The afternoon will conclude with the discussion of the IMO shift to Well to Wake (or Life Cycle Assessment), the economics of alternative fuels and some predictions on the medium term developments.
