At the Oenos&co introductory seminar Beer 101, SNFCC Members become better acquainted with beer and its long history, getting to know how it is made and what its main categories are, tasting and analyzing the taste of a variety of different labels from leading breweries of Greece and the world.
Together, we will discover the secrets of beer production (lager / ale / wild fermentation) and look at its main types and categories. We will talk about the proper tasting technique, proper serving, and how beer is preserved or even aged. We will debunk beer myths, clarify beer terminologies, and see how beer can accompany food (a handmade pretzel accompaniment will also be served during the tasting).
During the seminar, we will taste quality beers from major breweries of the following categories:
Pale Lager, Pilsner, Witbier (Hefeweizen), India Pale Ale, Brown Ale (Strong Ale), Dark Ale (Porter/Stout), Farmhouse Ale (Saison), Wild fermented (Lambic / Sour)
