In the world of social and independent media movements, the first days of February of each year are dedicated by the International Network of Street Papers to street magazine vendors across the globe. On this occasion, street magazines around the world organize events and activities aimed at bringing to the fore the protagonists and quintessence of these papers: the actual people, the vendors who are fighting for a better life.

One of the most popular activities is having renowned fellow citizens, friends and readers, as well as groups of citizens, sell the magazine on the street for an hour. These extraordinary vendors wear the characteristic red vest of Shedia and occupy one of the regular posts of the magazine’s ordinary vendors for an hour.

As part of the collaboration of the Membership Program with Shedia, on Saturday, Fec. 11, SNFCC Managing Director Ms. Elly Andriopoulou will wear the red vest of Shedia vendors at 12:00 noon, and at 13:00 she will hand over the baton to SNFCC Members who will have the exclusive opportunity to participate in the activity, taking on the role of the vendor and occupying a post on the premises of the SNFCC!

Focusing on the concepts of solidarity, accessibility and inclusion, values consistently advocated by the SNFCC, this activity will serve as an ideal occasion to get to know the regular vendor of the day, and to find out more about the daily struggle for a dignified life.
