SNFCC Members Off the Premises: “Shedia Art” Paper Upcycling Workshop at Shedia Home

Since its opening and as part of its social responsibility, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center has been cooperating, among others, with the street magazine Shedia, hosting it on its premises on the weekends. Thanks to this cooperation, SNFCC Members will be able to participate in selected projects implemented by Shedia, both within and off the premises of the SNFCC.

At this meeting, SNFCC Members will have the opportunity to tour Shedia Home and its program visions and to learn the secrets of Upcycling from the people of Shedia, the primary group of beneficiaries of the project “Shedia Art”.

The workshop “Shedia Art” will feature a hands-on presentation on how old, unsold issues of Shedia magazine can be reused and transformed into products of high aesthetics and quality, offering a seemingly “useless” thing, a piece of “garbage”, such as an old magazine, a brand-new opportunity, a new shape, a new life. SNFCC Members will witness strips of paper being transformed by their own hands as they will be creating their own piece of jewelry or art.

In addition to the above, SNFCC Members will enjoy a 20% discount on “Shedia Art” products at the physical store, on the days of the visits to Shedia Home.
