}yes{. is this year's TEDxVail theme. In a world where all things are possible, TEDxVail shapes a healthier Vail Valley with unbridled optimism and incremental change-making. We create a happier world by saying }yes{. Beyond the limited (knowledge, resources, time), we Xplore the limitless (imagination, creativity, curiosity). Focusing on that productive tension between “what is” and “what if - the inspiration that continues to drive us further into what's possible, brings us together, we are a }yes{.
TEDxVail also focuses on bringing people of all ages and groups from Vail Valley together to hear fascinating speakers, discuss innovative ideas, and Xperience captivating Adventures. Ultimately, we teach people how to use these Xperiences to learn, grow personally, change lives, and positively impact our communities. HUNGER: 17% of Vail Valley residents go hungry daily. In this interactive game you’ll ideate/activate solving for the beautiful question, “How might we fully feed families in Vail Valley? Some Xers will have already begun playing this adventure before February 10. If you want to get up close and personal with speakers and Xers playing this Race 4 Good, then make that choice only a handful will be selected.
HOMELESSNESS: nearly 10,000 housing solutions will be needed in the next 6 years. Engaging with fellow Xers to solve this wicked problem will take creativity, active listening, deep understanding of current resources, thinking outside of an existing culture of separateness. You’ve got game. You’ve got ideas. You’ve got Xers to play with.You've got to join in this solution-based conversation!
HEALTH: So you have your health - now. Do you know that the population of adults aged 60+ is predicted to quadruple by 2035? Ask and you shall receive. Whether it’s engaging in asking how might we support robust health in Vail Valley or actually receiving mini treatments for a brain break, if this feels like a }yes{, then sign up for this yes-shop.
