Hi everyone - Mia as you know has been diagnosed with a Wilms tumour (Cancer). She's had the tumour and her kidney removed and is undergoing chemotherapy which will likely last until the end of the 2017. So many of you have been in touch asking about how you can help and support and I've been thinking about how we can do something positive to beat cancer.

On the 2nd March at the Old Fire Station, Carlisle we have a networking evening for WHIS Cumbria. At the event we'll have local, national and international health innovators. We're kindly being supported by Hardwicke Circus and I've thought that we make this event the start of our cancer efforts. Any profit we make from this event we will put towards innovation to beat cancer (Research). I'm asking that people come on the evening and support us. If you have any items of value that we can use as raffle prizes then drop me a DM or contact Helen Render and if you wish to make a donation we'll ensure it goes towards our efforts to beat cancer.

This will be the start of our efforts and we will be to bring patients, clinicians, businesses, voluntary sector and educationalists together later this year to start looking for solutions to support cancer patients.

World Health Innovation Summit has been set up to support our health services while stimulating vibrant communities.

WHIS activities (WHISKidsWHISatworkWHISSeniorsWHISGreen etc) directly support open knowledge exchange and our business model is designed to generate income to be re-invested back into the community (Circular Economy).

WHIS Cumbria 16 was the beginning and since then the model has been adopted inGreece and Thailand. We have work streams developing in local communities in the UK (Manchester, Dorset, Cornwall etc) and around the world. We support active participation and encourage people to join us as we work together to find solutions that support our communities.

WHIS events provide creative opportunities for people to create solutions to support health, wellbeing and lifestyle challenges. We activiely support collaboration and by us working together and using our experiences we can find the solutions. #togetherweinspire
