About TEDxMarbella
TEDxMarbella is an independently organized event which strives to create an experience as close to the TED conference as possible. TEDxMarbella will start soon to bring innovative ideas to spread them between the people in the classic TED format. The 1st event is coming on March 8th of 2013.

The event will be focused on Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Motivation, under the slogan: "Sustainable City: Initiate, Innovate & Motivate".

Why do I have to fill out an application?
One of the keys to a successful TEDx is an interesting and diverse audience. We’re looking for people from various backgrounds –technology, the arts, science, government, business, non-profits, entertainment, etc. that are passionate and open-minded.
Why is the audience curated? This is an often asked and very good question. You will find a great summary behind TED's audience curation reasoning here. Like TED, our TEDxMarbella speakers are not paid. One reason they attend is for the passionate audience. We hope our audience is as equally excited about the guests around them as they are about the speakers.

Are you a speaker? That´s great! Please read carefully a few things that you have to know first:
This is not a typical conference. Rules for TEDxMarbella speakers include a ban on “selling from the stage”(no plugging your company or organisation, no branding, no ads.) and a strict enforcement of the clock (min 5min, maximum 18 minutes for a talk).
A carefully prepared presentation of brief length can have astonishing impact. This format also allows us tofit in more speakers and performers into the event. There are no questions after each talk. (There are defined conversation breaks for that purpose. The aim is to electrify the audience and open their minds to new ideas worth sharing.)

No se le cobrará ningún cargo por el envío de su solicitud de registro para asistir al evento. El coste del ticket se le cargará una vez aceptada su solicitud, para lo cual recibirá un correo electrónico con las instrucciones de pago. Podrá pagar vía Paypal con su Tarjeta de Crédito o Débito.

¿Porqué debo pagar un ticket para poder asistir a TEDxMarbella?
TEDxMarbella, al igual que todos los eventos TEDx son filantrópicos y sin fines de lucro. Nuestro evento es autofinanciado, y su ticket de pago contribuirá a cubrir los gastos de organización y producción del evento. Simple y Claro.
¿Porque tengo que rellenar un formulario para asistir?
Una de las claves para el éxito de un evento TEDx es contar con un público interesante y diverso. Se busca a gente de diversos sectores; tecnología, arte, ciencia, gobierno, negocios, filantropía, entretenimeinto, etc, que sientan pasión por lo que hacen y de mente abierta.
¿Por qué la audiencia es seleccionada? Esta es una pregunta muy frecuente y con mucho sentido. Para aclarar sus dudas podrá encontrar un resumen de esta política de TED pinchando aquí.
Como sucede en los eventos TED, los ponentes de TEDxMarbella no cobran por su participación y ponencia. Una de las motivaciones para estos selectos ponentes es exponer sus ideas ante una audiencia expectante y con ansias de oírles. Por esto mismo esperamos que nuestra audiencia también tenga un gran entusiasmo por escuchar a los conferenciantes y esté en armonía con la temática de TEDxMarbella .
